Set up your Squarespace account. If you are new to Squarespace, start with the video below. If you already have an account with Squarespace, you can skip to the second video tutorial.
NEW SQUARESPACE USERS:
Go to www.squarespace.com.
Click on Get Started and select ‘Start by browsing templates.’
Select any of the templates & hit ‘Start’.
Create your new account details.
Send us a message (email@example.com) with the email address you used to set up your new Squarespace account.
Within 48 hours, you will receive an email titled, “Contributor Invitation from Rose Lindo.” Click ‘Accept Invitation.’ (If you don’t see this message, check your ‘spam’ or ‘trash’ folders, as it sometimes can wind up in one of those areas.)
Shortly after accepting this invitation, you should see your new website template appear within your account.
EXISTING SQUARESPACE USERS:
Go to www.squarespace.com
Log in with your username + password.
Select your current website.
Click on ‘Settings’ -> ‘Permissions’
Select ‘Invite Contributor’ and type in the following:
Under ‘Permissions,’ select ‘Administrator.’
Within 48 hours, your new site will be uploaded to your account!
If you already have a website set up on Squarespace, all of your site’s old pages will be moved to the ‘Not Linked’ section of your site so you can preserve your existing content (pages, blog posts, etc). You can move these back to the ‘Main Navigation’ section at any time. Please note that the following items will be replaced with your new template’s settings & content:
• Style Settings • Logo Image • Browser Favicon • Custom CSS
Whenever you click on your profile picture at the bottom left of the screen, all of your current websites will be shown. Once your new website appears in your account (it will have the temporary title ‘Montauk’), click on your site to get started.
2. Connect a domain & set up billing:
On the left side of the screen, you’ll see all of your site’s options.
The first thing you want to do is go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Domains’ and select either ‘Get a Domain’ or ‘Use a Domain I Own.’ Follow the instructions on Squarespace from there to connect your domain.
Go back to ‘Settings’ & select ‘Billing & Account.’ Your account will initially be in a 14-day trial and will need to be updated ASAP in order to preserve your site. Click on ‘Upgrade’ and select your plan from there.

CREATING CLIPPING MASKS:
Open up the appropriate PSD file in Photoshop.
Make sure the Layers Palette is open
Open the photo you would like to use in Photoshop, making sure that the resolution of the image is at least 300 dpi.
Using the Selection Arrow Tool, drag your image onto the card template and resize the image, if needed. (You can do this by using the function “Command+T” or “Apple+T”).
In the Layers Palette, move your image directly above the layer titled “Clip image to this layer” inside the “Image” folder.
Select the new layer that was created when you opened your image (usually titled “Layer 1”, and right click on this layer.
Choose “Create Clipping Mask” under this selection.
Save image as a JPEG or PNG (for transparent backgrounds) and upload images to your website.
To change a color, simply double-click on the colored box (layer thumbnail) to the left of the layer you’d like to change.
The Color Picker should pop up. Choose a solid color of your choice, and hit ‘OK.’
To change the text, select the text layer you’d like to change and click on the Type Tool in the Tools Palette.
Click on the text and update as you wish!
