Set up your Squarespace account.
NEW SQUARESPACE USERS:
Go to www.squarespace.com.
Click on Get Started and select ‘Start by browsing templates.’
Select any of the templates & hit ‘Start’.
Create your new account details.
Send us a message (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the email address you used to set up your new Squarespace account.
Within 48 hours, you will receive an email titled, “Contributor Invitation from Rose Lindo.” Click ‘Accept Invitation.’ (If you don’t see this message, check your ‘spam’ or ‘trash’ folders, as it sometimes can wind up in one of those areas.)
Shortly after accepting this invitation, you should see your new website template appear within your account.
EXISTING SQUARESPACE USERS:
Go to www.squarespace.com
Log in with your username + password.
Select your current website.
Click on ‘Settings’ -> ‘Permissions’
Select ‘Invite Contributor’ and type in the following:
Under ‘Permissions,’ select ‘Administrator.’
Within 48 hours, your new site will be uploaded to your account!
Whenever you click on your profile picture at the bottom left of the screen, all of your current websites will be shown. Once your new website appears in your account (it will have the same title as the template you purchased), click on your site to get started.
2. Connect a domain & set up billing:
On the left side of the screen, you’ll see all of your site’s options.
The first thing you want to do is go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Domains’ and select either ‘Get a Domain’ or ‘Use a Domain I Own.’ Follow the instructions on Squarespace from there to connect your domain.
Go back to ‘Settings’ & select ‘Billing & Account.’ Your account will initially be in a 14-day trial and will need to be updated ASAP in order to preserve your site. Click on ‘Upgrade’ and select your plan from there.
