Pleasant Vonnoh Photography: Branded!
To say it was a pleasant experience to work with one of our latest clients would be A. cheesy, since Pleasant is, in fact, her first name, and B. an understatement, because this photographer is also a wife to her high school sweetheart and a mother to five children (twins included). As the youngest of eight children, I can only imagine how this lady manages to make any time for herself! That's what makes her so great--Pleasant runs a successful business AND keeps her family as her number one priority. Kudos to you, Pleasant! Oh, and thanks for making the rest of us look bad...
In the initial stages of the logo mockups, we toyed around with custom calligraphy and elegant scripts, but something seemed to be missing. We agreed that since the name "Pleasant Vonnoh" is so unique and fun in itself, that we really needed to make that text the main focal point of the brand. Pleasant was so open-minded when it came to trying out various techniques, such as creating the slightly distressed look in the text of her name. She liked the idea of using an enclosure with her logo, although she didn't want to be limited to this concept, so we created a design that could be used by itself or in combination with the vintage frame we came up with. The text is so strong by itself that it doesn't necessarily need an enclosure, which makes her brand that much more versatile.
There are also several other elements that were developed as a part of the set, which work well as watermarks and blog separators.
We are looking to letterpress Pleasant's business cards in the near future, so check back for more photos later!
